  • Entretien avec Arnaud Tricot, étudiant en BTS NRC cette année et qui a fait son stage en Irlande en décembre 2010, lorsqu’il était en terminale Baccalauréat Professionnel Commerce.
  • Interview with Arnaud Tricot who is attending a two-year post A-Level course in Sales and Marketing. He did his internship in Cork, in Ireland, in December 2010 when he was preparing his A-Level equivalent in Commerce.

  • Où as-tu fait ton stage (dans quel domaine) ?
  • Where did you do your internship ?

  • Je l’ai fait dans un magasin de décoration.
  • I did my internship in a decoration shop.

  • Quel était ton niveau d’anglais avant le stage ?
  • What was your level of English before leaving ?

  • Mon niveau n’était pas très bon.
  • My level of English was quite poor.

  • Comment se sont déroulés les cours durant la première semaine ?
  • How did your classes go during the first week ?

  • J’avais quatre heures de cours tous les matins et je devais porter une chemise et une cravate. Je devais aussi parler anglais tout le temps. J’allais au Cork English College.
  • I had 4 hours of classes each morning and had to wear a shirt and a tie. I also had to speak English all the time. I went to the Cork English College.

  • Comprenais-tu facilement le personnel, la clientèle et la famille ?
  • Was it easy to understand your fellow workers, customers and the family you lived with ?

  • Au début c’était difficile, mais je m’y suis habitué.
  • At the beginning it was difficult, but I began to get used to it.

  • T’entendais-tu bien avec ta famille d’accueil ?
  • Did you get on well with your host family ?

  • Je m’entendais bien avec la famille et j’avais mon espace personnel c’est pourquoi je me suis senti comme à la maison.
  • I got on well with the family and I had my own space which helped me to feel like I was at home.

  • Quel moyen de transport as-tu utilisé ?
  • What type of public transport did you use ?

  • Durant les premiers jours la famille m’a accompagné au travail pour connaître le trajet et ensuite j’ai commencé à prendre le bus seul.
  • During the first few days the family brought me to work to get to know the way to the shop, then afterwards I began to take the bus.

  • As-tu porté une tenue spéciale pour le stage ?
  • Were you required to wear specific attire during your placement ?

  • Durant l’entretien et les premiers jours j’ai dû porter une tenue professionnelle.
  • During the interview and the first few days I had to dress in business-clothes.

  • Que faisais tu durant ton temps libre et les week-ends ?
  • What did you do during your free time and at the weekends ?

  • Je sortais avec mes amis et j’ai visité la ville.
  • I met up with my friends and I visited Cork.

  • As-tu gardé contact avec ta famille d’accueil ?
  • Are you still in contact with your host family ?

  • Je n’ai pas gardé contact avec ma famille par contre j’ai gardé contact avec quelques amis que j’ai rencontré là -bas.
  • I have not kept in contact with the family however I am still in contact with some friends I met.

  • As-tu été rémunéré ?
  • Were you paid ?

  • Non je n’ai pas été rémunéré mais mes collègues m’ont offert des cadeaux.
  • No, I didn’t receive a wage or salary but my colleagues bought me some presents.

  • Qu’est-ce-que ce stage t’a apporté du point de vue culturel et personnel ?
  • From a cultural and personal level, what have you learnt from this experience ?

  • J’ai découvert une autre façon de vivre, je suis devenu plus indépendant.
  • I discovered another way of life, I became more independent and my eyes were opened to another culture.

  • Ton niveau d’anglais a-t-il progressé ?
  • Did you improve your English ?

  • Oui mon niveau d’anglais s’est amélioré. J’ai appris beaucoup plus de mots.
  • Yes, it has significantly improved ; I learnt a lot of words.

  • Le diplôme a-t-il changé quelque chose pour tes études ?
  • Has your diploma changed anything for your studies ?

  • Non pas pour le moment mais c’est un plus sur mon CV.
  • Not for the moment but it is beneficial to my CV.

  • Si c’était à recommencer, referais-tu cette expérience ?
  • If you could do it all again, would you do it ?

  • Oui absolument, les semaines passaient si vite. Cela m’a beaucoup plu.
  • Yes absolutely, the weeks went so quick as I really enjoyed It.
